Chloë Hugo-Hamman (*1983) is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Cape Town, South Africa. Her work explores the tensions between internal landscapes and external systems — tracing how lived experiences of neurodivergence are shaped by and push back against societal norms. Rather than framing these experiences through a lens of pathology, she reimagines them as portals to more livable, imaginative futures. Through dream-like worlds, she layers texture, line, and colour using sewing, drawing, collage, sculpture, video and installation.
She has exhibited in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Stockholm, including at Whatiftheworld Gallery and Bubblegum Gallery. Chloë holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Cape Town (UCT), a Master’s in Fine Art from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from UCT.
